v Help create a rough draft for students to practice.

Lesson Sequence
1. Explain what Prezi is compared to PowerPoint.
2. Create an account for students.
3. Explain the three options at the top
a. Your Prezis
b. Learn & Support – We will go over the tutorial videos.
c. Explore – Prezis created by other people made public that users may use.
4. Go over features such as templates, transitions, and sharing.
5. Create  a Prezi Presentation.

6.4B Use preventative safety equipment, including chemical splash goggles, aprons, and gloves, and be prepared to use emergency equipment.

Activity

Dear Students,

This year in science class we will be conducting several experiments throughout the school year. I want to make sure you have understood lab safety rules. Our first lab activity will be held this Friday. In order to participate you must prove to me that you know how to use your preventive safety equipment. In order to participate you must create a Prezi presentation stating the use of the following safety equipment.

Ø Goggles
Ø Apron
Ø Gloves
Ø Safety Shower
Ø Eyewash station
Ø Fire Blanket

Objective
v Students will learn how to incorporate Prezi during their science class.
v Students will learn better computer based research skills.
v Incorporate technology in the classroom.

Lesson Sequence

Discuss how Prezi allows multiple users to alter a presentation
Students will choose a partner and research the energy resources.
After recording their information they will begin creating their Prezi presentation.
Students will create a presentation stating the advantages and disadvantages of energy resources using the Prezi program.
Student will work simultaneously on Prezi Presentation.

6.7A Research and debate the advantages and disadvantages of using coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear power, biomass, wind, hydropower, geothermal, and solar resources




Activity

Use the following template to brainstorm with your partner the advantages and disadvantages of energy resources. After you complete the handout create a Prezi Presentation with the information acquired.

Objective
Students will learn how to embed videos into Prezi presentations.
Students will learn how to share presentations with others using Prezi.
Students will create a presentation that demonstrates a logical plan to manage energy resources.

Lesson Sequence
A Prezi presentation will be given on embedding videos.
Teacher will model and then students will repeat the process.
Students will practice on their own account how to incorporate a YouTube video into their own presentation.
Students will then fill in graphic organizer with ideas on how to save on energy resources.
Students will transfer information to a Prezi presentation and find a video on YouTube stating the importance of conserving energy resources.

TEKS
6.7B Design a logical plan to manage energy resources in the home, school, or community.

Activity
Use the following graphic organizer to write down your thoughts on how to manage energy resources at home, school, and community. Talk to your peers on could be possible options to save on energy resources. After the graphic organizer is complete create a Prezi presentation with the information and add a video on the topic.
